Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. in Lexington, NC is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver. The role offers weekly pay, a $1,250 sign‑on bonus at 30 days and another at 90 days, paid training, and a benefits package starting after 30 days.

The position requires 9 months to 5 years of Class A experience, DOT and Ryder-specific checks, and the ability to follow detailed instructions. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday with start time 5:00 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Pass a Ryder Drug Test.
• Pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check incl. drug/alcohol verification from last 3 years.
• Pass a DOT physical.
• Pass a Ryder road test.
• Provide CDL and endorsements for the position.
• Class A verifiable tractor-trailer experience.
• 9 months within past 3 years OR 2 years within past 5 years OR 5 years within past 10 years.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and maneuver tractor trailers on the yard and on public roads.
• Comply with safety and DOT regulations; participate in ongoing training and customer service.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain logs and records.
• Support other tasks and duties as assigned by supervision.

• Hourly Pay: $22.00 Per Hour
• Hours Per Week: 48 - 60 hours per week average

Requirements

• Minimum 21 years of age

• Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor trailer or comparable vehicle:
• 9 months experience within the past 3 years, OR
• 2 years' experience within the last 5 years, OR
• 5 years' experience within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations policies and/or procedures

Important Note: Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification; motor vehicle records check and a road test; and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.

Responsibilities

• This position is primarily responsible for safely handling and maneuvering tractor trailers on the yard and within an area on public roads
• The position requires compliance with safety & DOT Regulations, continuous training and customer service

Additional Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensuring compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines
• Detecting and eliminating or minimizing safety hazards
• Maintaining accurate records and logs
• Maintaining accurate move and yard inventory records Other tasks as assigned
