Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a Yard Jockey (CDL) to join our Riverside, CA team. The role involves moving drop trailers in and out of dock areas, adhering to safety and quality standards, and maintaining an orderly yard while supporting shipping and receiving operations.

You will lift heavy loads, perform pre/post shift safety checks, and contribute to inventory accuracy. This hourly position offers a step pay progression and weekly pay, with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs or more.
• Ability to work overtime and some weekend hours during peak season.
• Safely maneuver a tractor and trailer in a compact yard area.
• Customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Move all drop trailers in/out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping/receiving instructions.
• Perform duties consistent with the values and mission of the corporation.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area per OSHA, MSDS and trade orgs.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring the integrity of trailer inventory.

This hourly role follows the Scotts step pay progression scale and typically starts at $28.85 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Yard Jockey (CDL) to join our ScottsMiracle-Gro team in Riverside,CA!

In this role you will:

• Move all drop trailers in/out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping/receiving instructions.
• Perform his/her duties consistent with the values and mission of the corporation.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA, MSDS, and any trade organizations.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring the integrity of the inventory of inbound and outbound trailers while minimizing errors.
• Perform and document pre and post shift safety inspections.
• Complete yard check daily.
• Ensure all trailers are segregated per internal processes.
• Lift and open trailer doors.
• Frequently bend to place and remove wheel chocks.
• Safely enter and exit yard tractor numerous times per shift.
• Safely maneuver equipment with good backing skills.
• May also assist in warehouse responsibilities as needed including forklift operation. Skills and qualifications
