Scotts Miracle-Gro is hiring for an hourly yard role in Ohio. Typical pay starts at $26.05 per hour with weekly pay. The job involves moving trailers, securing loads, conducting safety checks, and coordinating yard traffic with drivers.

Requirements include a Class A CDL (HM not required but suggested), at least 3 years of verifiable driving experience, and the ability to lift 55 lbs or more. A full benefits package is available after start.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years verifiable driving experience.
• No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 1 DOT recordable accident in the last 3 years.
• Medically qualified to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs or more.

Responsibilities

• Move all drop trailers in and out of dock locations per shipping/receiving instructions.
• Move product and trailers across the warehouse lot to various destinations.
• Secure trailers with wheel chocks and locking systems.
• Conduct safety checks before forklift drivers enter a trailer.
• Open/close trailer doors and assist forklift drivers as needed.
• Maintain/update relevant paperwork and perform daily safety audits.
• Report hazards and work on continuous improvement projects with leadership.
• Coordinate movement of trucks within the yard with third-party drivers.

This hourly role follows the Scotts step pay progression scale and typically starts at $26.05 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

In this role you will:

• Move all drop trailers in and out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping and receiving instructions.
• Move product and trailers across the warehouse lot to different destinations.
• Secure trailers in place using wheel chocks and locking systems.
• Conduct safety checks prior to forklift drivers entering a trailer.
• Open and close trailer doors and assist Forklift Drivers as needed.
• Maintain and update relevant paperwork and conduct daily safety audits of the yard.
• Report and hazards and work with facility leadership on continuous improvement projects.
• Assist third party Drivers by coordinating the movement of trucks within the yard.

What you’ll need to be successful:

• Class A CDL - HM not required but suggested
