Scotts Miracle-Gro in Riverside, CA is seeking a CDL Yard Jockey to join our team. In this role you will move drop trailers, inspect safety, maintain inventory integrity, and support warehouse tasks as needed, all while upholding our safety and service standards.

The position offers benefits and growth opportunities, with a starting pay of $28.85 per hour and weekly pay, with actual compensation determined by skills, experience, and location.

Qualifications

• Ability to operate a commercial motor vehicle.
• Ability to lift 55 lbs or more.
• Ability to work overtime and some weekend hours during peak season.
• Safely maneuver a tractor and trailer combination vehicle in a compact yard area.
• Customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Move all drop trailers in/out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping/receiving instructions.
• Perform duties consistent with the values and mission of the corporation.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area per OSHA and MSDS standards.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring inventory integrity of inbound and outbound trailers.
• Perform and document pre and post shift safety inspections.
• Complete yard check daily.
• Ensure all trailers are segregated per internal processes.
• Lift and open trailer doors.
• Frequently bend to place and remove wheel chocks.
• Safely enter and exit yard tractor multiple times per shift.
• Safely maneuver equipment with good backing skills.
• May assist in warehouse responsibilities including forklift operation.

This hourly role follows the Scotts step pay progression scale and typically starts at $28.85 per hour and is paid weekly. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.

We are looking for a Yard Jockey (CDL) to join our ScottsMiracle-Gro team in Riverside,CA!

In this role you will:

• Move all drop trailers in/out of dock door locations in conjunction with shipping/receiving instructions.
• Perform his/her duties consistent with the values and mission of the corporation.
• Maintain a clean, neat, orderly and safe work area. Conduct operations in accordance with OSHA, MSDS, and any trade organizations.
• Provide excellent customer service by ensuring the integrity of the inventory of inbound and outbound trailers while minimizing errors.
• Perform and document pre and post shift safety inspections.
• Complete yard check daily.
• Ensure all trailers are segregated per internal processes.
• Lift and open trailer doors.
• Frequently bend to place and remove wheel chocks.
• Safely enter and exit yard tractor numerous times per shift.
• Safely maneuver equipment with good backing skills.
• May also assist in warehouse responsibilities as needed including forklift operation.
