Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC is seeking a Yard Hand in the Hampton, VA area to support boat handling, maintenance, and marina upkeep. You will haul, block, and launch boats, perform routine maintenance, and work closely with the Yard Foreman and crew to ensure service objectives are met.

The role requires willingness to work overtime, lift up to 50 pounds, and operate heavy equipment. A high school diploma is preferred and forklift experience is a plus.

Responsabilités

• Haul, block and launch boats.
• Perform general boat maintenance and service tasks (waxing, bottom painting, zinc replacement).
• Assist Yard Foreman and crewmembers as needed.
• Operate yard machinery (75-Ton Travelift, 35-Ton trailer, forklift, power washer).
• Maintain marina grounds and cleanliness; overtime when required.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisor.

The Yard Hand is responsible for assisting with carrying out tasks required to successfully achieve the service department objectives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Haul, block and launch boats


• Perform general boat maintenance and service work to include, but not limited to: waxing, bottom painting and zinc replacement


• Work closely with the Yard Foreman and assist fellow crewmembers as needed


• Operate yard machinery including 75-Ton Travelift, 35-Ton hydraulic trailer, forklift, power washer, etc.


• Grounds maintenance and marina cleanliness


• Availability to work overtime when required


• Carry out additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training


• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area


• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred


• Heavy forklift experience a plus


• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder


• Ability to work in all weather conditions


• Ability to work in confined spaces


• Ability to lift 50 pounds
  
• Basic boat handling skills a plus


• Any skills considered standard that a Yard Hand should possess
