Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas is hiring a Marina Technician to join our team in Florida. The role focuses on engine mounting, alignments, exhaust systems, hydraulic steering, and vessel system maintenance. Candidates should have a strong mechanical background and the ability to work with gas and diesel engines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Technical school training preferred.
• 5 years’ experience preferred.
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and align engine mounting systems.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace vessel systems and components.
• Assess scope before starting job and allocate time/resources.
• Assign parts and purchases to vessels/tickets.
• Overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Engine Mounting Systems
• Engine to Drive Line Alignments, Engine to Gear Box Alignments
• Exhaust System Components Maintenance
• Hydraulic Steering - Installation, Service & Maintenance
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, replace, remove and install vessel systems and components
• Conduct thorough assessment prior to starting a job including; acknowledging the budgeted time and time
• frame for completion, proving the system and the element requiring service, sourcing parts if required
• Assign parts and purchases to the appropriate vessels/tickets
• Availability to work overtime in order to meet deadlines
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Technical school training preferred
• 5 years’ experience preferred
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
• Must carry own tools
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred
• Any skills considered standard that a Technician should possess
