Job summary

Safe Harbor Marinas, LLC is seeking a Dockhand (part-time) to support marina operations and guest services at the docks. The role involves assisting boaters, keeping docks and facilities clean, and maintaining safety and order at the harbor.

The Dockhand will greet guests, help with general boating needs, and ensure equipment is functional while adhering to OSHA rules and safety standards. Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide Safe Harbor Members with a positive experience.
• Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner.
• Assist members and guests with marina facilities and questions.
• Help with general boating needs and dockside services.
• Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways and surrounding areas.
• Ensure docks and equipment are operational and safe.
• Comply with OSHA and environmental regulations and site rules.
• Available for overtime when required.
• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
• Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
• Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions
• Assist customers with general boating needs
• Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management
• Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
• Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements

• Ability to work safely around the water
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Any skills considered standard that a Dockhand should possess
