Safe Harbor Marinas is seeking a Dockhand at the Deep River marina to support the docking team and assist boaters with daily needs. The role emphasizes safety, guest service, and keeping docks and facilities clean and organized.

The Dockhand will work as part of a fast-paced marina team, requires physical ability including swimming, and may include overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed to maintain excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Must be able to swim.
• Previous customer service experience preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• General dockhand skills and safety awareness are expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist marina customers and guests with boating needs.
• Maintain cleanliness of docks, restrooms, walkways, and surrounding areas.
• Ensure docks and equipment are operational and safe.
• Greet customers; orient guests to marina facilities; provide information as needed.
• Adhere to safety and environmental rules; wear PPE as required.

The Dockhand is responsible for assisting the marina team in order to serve marina customers and guests by performing a variety of tasks including but not limited to general operation of the docks and assisting boaters. The Dockhand must work to maintain a safe and clean environment throughout the harbor and marina facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide SHM members with the best experience possible
• Greet all customers in a manner that expresses a kind, courteous and professional character
• Help orient members and guests to the marina, facilities, and answer other commonly asked questions
• Assist customers with general boating needs
• Maintain and clean restrooms, docks, walkways, grounds and other areas designated by management
• Ensure docks and equipment are operational at all times
• Comply with OSHA regulations, environmental regulations, and adhere to all site rules and expectations
• Availability to work overtime when required
• Ability to work weekends and holidays
• Other duties as assigned by Manager

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately

Technical and Physical Requirements

• Ability to work safely around the water
• Must be able to swim
• Ability to lift 30 pounds
• Previous customer service experience preferred
• Any skills considered standard that a Dockhand should possess
