Job summary

RLM Underground in Morris, Illinois is seeking a hands-on Yard & Facilities Manager. You will ensure daily operation of the Morris facility, yard, and fleet, coordinating materials, equipment, and crews to keep field operations running efficiently.

The role requires strong organizational skills, frontline maintenance, and inventory control. You will oversee loading/unloading, inventory counts, and vehicle coordination in a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in yard management, warehouse operations, facilities maintenance, fleet coordination, or related field preferred.
• Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
• Experience with material receiving, inventory counts, and material handling.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
• Forklift or equipment operation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and appearance of the facility, yard, and shop.
• Coordinate general facility maintenance and minor repairs.
• Manage exterior areas including parking, grounds, and entrances.
• Ensure materials and equipment are stored in designated locations.
• Keep work areas and loading zones clean and unobstructed.
• Identify maintenance needs and coordinate with outside vendors.
• Support seasonal property needs and weather-related prep.
• Maintain a safe, professional facility to support daily operations.
• Receive materials, verify deliveries, and stage for crews.
• Coordinate fleet needs, vehicle maintenance, and registrations.
• Assist with loading and unloading, deliveries, and pickups.
• Support crews with materials, tools, and transportation.
