Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Yard Driver to support trailer movement at the distribution center and assist preparation of trailers for shipping. You will monitor trailer status and ensure safe, efficient handling of goods.

The role requires a Class A CDL, driving experience, and a focus on safety. We offer competitive pay, benefits starting after 60 days, vacation and sick leave, holidays after 90 days, and additional programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• 2 years driving experience desired.
• 100,000-mile tractor-trailer experience desired.
• CDL Class A required.
• Accident-free driving record for past three years desired.
• Ability to read/write English and understand work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor, maneuver into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Clean and spot trailers to specified doors or lot locations.
• Inspect trailers for defects and submit inspection report.
• Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure and refrigeration unit functions; report issues to Operations Manager or Warehouse Lead.
• Drive tractor-trailer within yard or short distances outside of yard, following regulations and safe practices.
• Meet the position’s physical demands.
• Load/unload and/or deliver all products as ordered by customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
