Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Yard Driver to support trailer movement at the distribution center and assist with trailer preparation for shipping. You will monitor trailer status and ensure secure transport of products.

This role offers a 2nd shift schedule and a comprehensive benefits package. The Yard Driver will drive tractor-trailers within the yard, inspect trailers, and adhere to safety protocols. Strong reading and math skills and a valid CDL are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 2 years related driving experience preferred.
• 100,000-mile tractor-trailer experience preferred.
• Class A CDL required.
• Accident-free driving record for past three years preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for job performance.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor, maneuver into position to attach trailer and secure lines.
• Clean and spot trailers to doors or lot locations.
• Inspect trailers for defects, pre/post trip, and submit inspection report.
• Inspect loaded trailers to ensure product is secure and refrigeration unit functioning; report issues.
• Drive tractor-trailer within yard and on Company premises.
• Meet this position’s physical demands.
• Ability to load/unload and deliver all products as ordered by customers.
• Other duties as assigned.
