Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Yardspotter to support trailer movement at the distribution center and assist in preparing trailers for shipping. The role includes monitoring loaded trailers and ensuring proper securing and refrigeration operation.

The position requires reading and understanding labels, working with equipment ID systems, and performing basic math to verify quantities. A high school diploma is preferred, and CDL is not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• No Class A CDL required.
• Accident-free driving record in past three years preferred.
• Able to read and comprehend written instructions.
• Able to read equipment ID numbering system.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, reach, bend, squat, and stoop.
• Comply with safety rules and attendance policies.
• Must read, write and understand English for work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Drive tractor or yard truck, attach trailer and secure lines.
• Spot and stage trailers to doors or lot locations.
• Fuel tractor or trailer and wash equipment when needed.
• Inspect trailers for defects and safety issues.
• Back LTL or drop trailers into receiving doors.
• Ensure product is secured and refrigeration unit functions; report issues.
