Job summary

Paycom is seeking a yard tractor operator for the Irving, TX distribution center. You will position trailers at docks, shuttle them to pickup zones for OTR drivers, and operate a yard tractor to move trailers safely around the yard.

Two years of tractor-trailer experience is required, with English literacy and a valid driver’s license (CDL may be required). You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work nights/weekends when needed, and maintain a strong safety and customer-service mindset.

Qualifications

• Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including spotting in congested areas.
• Must read and write in English.

Responsibilities

• Position trailers at the distribution center docks.

WED – 1145AM TO 6PMTHUR – 545AM TO 6PMFRII - 545AM TO 6PMSAT – 545AM TO 6PMResponsible for the positioning of trailers at the distribution center docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a designated location for pick up by OTR drivers.Safely and efficiently operate a yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers about the distribution center yard.Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.Report trailer damage or broken equipment.Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.Clean and tidy the yard truck and work area.Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.Must read and write in English. Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas. Frequent movement between truck cab and yard in all weather conditions. Requires ability to see clearly and safely perform tasks in all lighting conditions, including bright daylight, low light, and nighttime. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required.
