Job summary

Paycom is hiring a commercial truck driver responsible for over-the-road deliveries and yard trailer movements. You will operate a tractor, dock to dock movements, and coordinate with yard and maintenance staff to ensure safe, on-time service.

Requirements include a valid CDL, English literacy, and at least 12 months of tractor-trailer experience. The role involves nights and weekends, heavy lifting, and strict adherence to safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Must possess Commercial Drivers License and meet Company driver qualification standards.
• Twelve month verifiable experience operating tractor trailers.
• Must read and write in English.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform climbing in/out of truck and trailers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor in yard and road movements between designated locations.
• Make over-the-road deliveries or pickups as dispatched.
• Coordinate with Yard Spotter and Maintenance staff to position and maintain trailers.
• Inspect tractor and report any damage or broken equipment.
• Chock trailers and operate equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, brakes, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.
• Maintain a clean truck and work area; write work completion and damage reports.
• Perform other driver duties as assigned and maintain professional customer interactions.

Guarantee $825.00 weeklyCommercial truck driving job involving the use of Company owned equipment in the over-the-road delivery of loads from distribution center to retail locations as well as the shuttling of trailers within the confines of the distribution center as needed.Operate a tractor in both yard and road movement of trailers between designated locations.Safely and efficiently maneuver empty and loaded trailers into and out of loading docks.Make over the road deliveries or pick-ups of loads as dispatched.Coordination with Yard Spotter personnel to position specifically designated trailers to and from proper dock locations.Coordination with Maintenance Manager and shop personnel to assure trailers are rotated to/from the maintenance area as required.Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.Inspection of tractor for damage or broken equipment.Report trailer damage or broken equipment.Accurate writing of work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.Clean and tidy the truck and work area.Such other driver duties as may be assigned.Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.Must possess Commercial Drivers License and meet Company driver qualification standards. Frequent movement between truck cab and yard in all weather conditions. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required.
