Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Position trailers at distribution center docks.
• Operate yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers.
• Follow radioed instructions to position trailers at the designated door location.
• Chock trailers and operate trailer equipment (fifth wheel, dolly, brakes, lights, refrigeration unit settings).
• Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment and report any issues.
• Complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
• Keep the yard truck and work area clean and orderly.
• Maintain a professional demeanor with customer representatives at all times.
• Performs other duties in the trailer yard as assigned.

3 Daytime Positions Available3 Nightime Positions AvailableResponsible for the positioning of trailers at the distribution center docks and shuttling loaded trailers to a designated location for pick up by OTR drivers.Safely and efficiently operate a yard tractor to maneuver empty and loaded trailers about the distribution center yard.Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.Inspect yard tractor for damage or broken equipment.Report trailer damage or broken equipment.Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.Clean and tidy the yard truck and work area.Such other duties about the trailer yard as may be assigned.Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.Must read and write in English. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required.
