Job summary

Paycom in Roswell, NM is seeking an experienced Truck Driver for a full-time graveyard shift. A valid CDL, ability to read and write in English, and reliable performance in short-haul trailer movements are required.

You will operate tractors in yard and street movements, spot trailers at docks, perform inspections, and report issues. Night/weekend shifts may be required; teamwork and safety are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Must possess Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and meet company driver qualification standards.
• Must read and write in English.
• Three months experience operating tractor trailers, including the spotting of trailers in congested areas.
• Two years or more experience operating tractor trailers preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate a tractor in yard and street movements between designated locations.
• Safely maneuver empty and loaded trailers into and out of loading docks.
• Make over the road deliveries or pick-ups of loads as assigned.
• Accurately follow radioed instructions to position trailers to proper door locations.
• Perform safe chocking of trailers and operate trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, brakes, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.
• Inspect tractor for damage or broken equipment and report issues.
• Complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
• Maintain a clean and orderly truck and work area.
• Exhibit a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives.

Responsible for short haul positioning of trailers to and from locations on and off the terminal yard, as well as the spotting of trailers at loading docks. Also may be assigned to move loads to and from off-yard locations.

• Operate a tractor in both yard and street movement of trailers between designated locations.
• Safely and efficiently maneuver empty and loaded trailers into and out of loading docks.
• Make over the road deliveries or pick-ups of loads as assigned (some terminals).
• Accurately follow radioed instructions in order to position specifically designated trailers to the proper door location.
• Safe chocking of trailer and operation of trailer equipment including fifth wheel, dolly, breaks, lights, and refrigeration unit settings.
• Inspect tractor for damage or broken equipment.
• Report trailer damage or broken equipment.
• Accurately complete work completion reports and equipment damage reports as required.
• Clean and tidy the truck and work area.
• Such other driver duties as may be assigned.
• Maintain a professional and cooperative demeanor with customer representatives at all times.

Qualifications

Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. Job involves some walking and frequent climbing in and out of the truck cab and on and off trailers. Must have ability to safely climb stairs, ladders, and equipment footholds. Frequent movement between truck cab and yard in all weather conditions. Must possess ability to work nights and weekends where required.
