Job summary

SerClean is seeking a Reconstruction Estimator to join our team in the United States. The role focuses on developing accurate cost estimates for residential and commercial reconstruction after water, fire, or storm damage, ensuring projects are scoped and priced to protect target gross margins.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in restoration estimating, strong Xactimate skills, and a solid understanding of building methods, codes, and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred (not required).
• 3+ years of reconstruction estimating experience in restoration or construction industry preferred.
• Strong experience writing insurance-based estimates in Xactimate required.
• Solid understanding of residential and light commercial construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of local building codes and OSHA safety standards.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Experience With Construction Management Software Preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Customer-focused mindset with professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits to assess damage and determine full reconstruction scope.
• Develop detailed and accurate estimates using Xactimate for residential and commercial rebuild projects.
• Analyze labor, materials, equipment, overhead, and subcontractor costs.
• Solicit and review subcontractor bids for trades including framing, drywall, flooring, cabinetry, painting, roofing, and specialty services.
• Negotiate pricing and terms with subcontractors and vendors to ensure competitive and profitable project outcomes.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure projects stay aligned with approved estimates and budgets.
• Maintain and update cost databases and historical pricing records.
• Ensure estimates comply with building codes, local regulations, and safety standards.
• Provide professional and responsive communication with homeowners and commercial clients.
• Explain scope and pricing clearly to customers when necessary.
• Coordinate closely with mitigation, production, and administrative teams to ensure seamless file transitions.
• Uphold SerClean’s standards of professionalism, quality, and customer satisfaction.
