The X Ray Limited Scope & Medical Support Specialist performs routine x-ray, medical, and testing procedures under direct supervision of the treating clinician. This role also supports other areas of the facility including registration and referral management. Responsibilities include performing routine X-ray examinations in accordance with policies, practices, and regulations, ensuring quality patient care and safety, and delivering excellent patient experiences.

Responsibilities

X-ray Technician Duties

• Prepare patients for radiologic procedures, assist with positioning, and ensure safety and comfort during exams.
• Operate radiologic equipment, adjust controls, and take X-rays following established requirements and safety protocols.
• Use radiation safety measures and protection devices.
• Maintain radiologic equipment, report malfunctions, and ensure workflow compliance.

Medical Support Specialist Duties

• Perform drug and alcohol testing, prepare patients for examinations, and assist during procedures.
• Perform routine medical procedures, assist with injury care, and dispense medications as ordered.
• Maintain equipment, supplies, and ensure proper documentation and record keeping.
• Support patient flow, communicate wait times, and perform clerical duties including front desk responsibilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Completion of state-approved Limited Scope Technician program and licensure, if applicable.
• CPR/First Aid Certification.
• At least six months of medical assistant and X-ray experience.
• Knowledge of occupational medicine requirements is preferred.
