Posting Title: X-Ray Technologist Overview

At Fast Pace Urgent Care, X-Ray Techs provide clinical and administrative support essential for effective patient care under the direct supervision of a Provider, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant. They deliver outstanding patient service, maintaining a compassionate and welcoming atmosphere, and respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment, in addition to imaging. The X-Ray Tech will provide effective customer service for all internal and external customers by using excellent, in-depth knowledge and communicating effectively with team members.

Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfill all responsibilities of Nurse/Clinical Tech and Patient Care Specialist as detailed in their respective job descriptions.
  2. Deliver clinical and administrative support for the team, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
  3. Assist patients with proper positioning during exams to ensure diagnostic quality.
  4. Conduct activities consistent with department expectations and comply with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA.
  5. Review exam images for initial read by provider.
  6. Send final images to Radiology group for over-read.
  7. Label all images correctly with laterality using an initialed lead marker.
  8. Ensure no artifacts are present in images unless explained, and use proper technique for each exam.
  9. Address minor maintenance issues with equipment and consult with the nurse coordinator or Clinic Director as needed.
  10. Monitor condition of x-ray equipment and report issues promptly.
  11. Maintain and distribute pregnancy waiver forms where applicable.
  12. Perform triage by checking vitals, collecting clinical history, and recording information in EMS; perform blood draws, injections, and other nursing tasks when applicable.
  13. Monitor and record X-Ray badge monthly.
  14. Wear radiation monitors at all times in the X-Ray room and report as required.
  15. Complete mandatory compliance training.
  16. Welcome and support new employees, including clinic tours and training.
  17. Build positive relationships with colleagues and clients, maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor.
  18. Perform physical, sensory, cognitive, and environmental functions as specified in the physical demands.
  19. Adhere to company standards and core values of teamwork, communication, empowerment, quality of care, and friendliness.

Experience Requirements and Preferences:

  • Current ARRT License (Registered Technologist)
  • State License (Registered Technologists and Limited Scope)
  • Active, in good standing, and verifiable with the regulatory agency.
  • TB and IV Certification required within 60 days of employment if applicable.

Additional Requirements for Full Scope X-Ray Only:

  • Level 1: High School Diploma, current CPR, and at least 1 year of experience as a certified RT(R) or limited scope x-ray tech preferred.
  • Level 2: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 1 year and less than 3 years of experience in direct patient care as an RTR.
  • Level 3: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 3 years and less than 7 years of experience, with responsibilities including increased X-ray volume and ultrasound procedures.
  • Level 4: Certified RTR, current CPR, over 7 years of experience, with additional responsibilities including administration duties.

Additional Requirements for LSRT X-Ray (Applicable Only in Certain States):

  • Similar level structure as above, with focus on Limited Scope certification and experience.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

Licenses: Limited Scope X-Ray Technologist License, ARRT, and full scope state license.
