Job summary

Oxford Instruments in Scotts Valley, California is seeking a Technical Sales Associate to join the X-Ray Technology team, combining technology, sales, and problem-solving while you learn on the job.

You will act as a primary contact for customer inquiries, assist with quotations and documentation, support inside sales activities, and help coordinate orders with production, logistics, and finance as you develop towards account management roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 1-3 years of experience in sales support, customer service, technical sales, or a related business environment preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, providing timely and professional support.
• Assist with preparing quotations, proposals, and commercial documentation.
• Support inside sales activities including quote generation, order entry, order acknowledgments, and customer follow-up.
• Maintain accurate customer, opportunity, and sales activity records within CRM and ERP systems.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and finance teams to ensure accurate order fulfilment and delivery schedules.
• Track customer opportunities and support sales pipeline management activities.
• Ensure sales documentation and records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
• Develop knowledge of X-ray products, applications, and target markets.
• Collaborate with engineering and product management teams to understand product capabilities and customer requirements.
• Assist in identifying opportunities within existing customer accounts.
• Participate in customer meetings, technical discussions, and sales activities while progressively taking ownership of opportunities.
