Job summary

CareNow, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a X-ray Tech – Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will perform imaging per orders and document in the EHR while supporting patient flow.

Requirements include 1+ year clinical experience, EHR familiarity, a Medical Assistant program, and state-licensed GMRT/LMRT/NCT credentials. BLS and drug/alcohol screening certs must be obtained within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT, LMRT, or NCT license required in state of residency.
• Current certification from the AAMA is preferred.
• BLS Certification required within 30 days of start.
• Must obtain Breath Alcohol and Drug Screening Certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collect lab specimens, perform EKGs and administer IM injections.
• Perform all x-ray/imaging services according to provider's orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in the EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts; maintain in-house and sent-out lab records.
