Job summary

CareNow, part of the HCA Healthcare family, seeks a PRN X-ray Technician and Medical Assistant to perform imaging, vital signs, injections, and patient history collection in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Responsibilities include EHR documentation, splinting, and assisting with check-in/out while maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient communication throughout visits. Requires relevant licensure and certifications, with a strong emphasis on patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is helpful.
• Experience using an EHR system is beneficial.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistants or completion of an approved program (BOTP) is required.
• GMRT/LMRT/NCT license is required in state of residency.
• AAMA certification preferred.
• BLS certification required within 30 days.
• Federal Breath Alcohol and Federal Drug Screening certifications within 3 months.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs, collecting lab specimens, performing EKGs, and IM injections.
• Perform x-ray/imaging services according to provider’s orders and update patient charts.
• Collect patient history and document in EHR.
• Apply splints, dressings and bandages as needed.
• Assist with check-in/check-out and audit charts.
• Maintain records and logs for in-house lab work and external tests.
• Keep patients and visitors informed of clinic progress.
