Job summary

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to provide flexible, patient-focused imaging services across Chicagoland clinics.

The ideal candidate holds a Radiologic Technology degree with ARRT certification (or in progress within 6 months) and Illinois licensure. You will operate in a fast-paced environment, assist with patient care, and maintain equipment while supporting multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Must have a Radiologic Technology degree and ARRT certification or be on track to complete within 6 months.
• Illinois licensure (IDNS or IDPH Radiologic Technologist) required to practice.
• New grads welcome and encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform extremity X-ray imaging per physician orders and ALARA principles.
• Room patients, take vitals, and document in the EMR (Epic) as needed.
• Support clinical tasks and relay physician instructions to patients.
• Maintain imaging equipment and perform daily QC checks; report issues promptly.
• Work across multiple Chicagoland clinic locations as shifts arise.

We're growing our imaging team and looking for a PRN X-Ray Technologist who wants flexible, meaningful work in a clinic that actually stands for something.

What You'll Do

• Perform extremity X-ray imaging to support diagnosis and treatment, following physician orders and ALARA principles
• Room patients, collect vitals, and document accurately in the EMR (Epic) when needed
• Support clinical tasks when needed
• Relay physician and PA instructions to patients about their treatment plans
• Maintain imaging equipment, perform daily QC checks, and report issues promptly

Schedule Details

• As-needed shifts with flexible scheduling — no guaranteed hours
• You'll be contacted to cover a full shift at a designated clinic; location varies based on need and your ability to commute

Who We're Looking For

You have a degree in Radiologic Technology and are either ARRT certified or on track to complete certification within 6 months of hire. Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (or IDPH Radiologic Technologist) licensure is required to practice in this role.

• Is comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25–30 lbs as part of patient positioning
