Job summary

Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine is seeking a PRN X-Ray Technologist to join our imaging team. You’ll perform extremity X-ray imaging, room patients, collect vitals, and document in Epic, following ALARA principles and physician orders.

This role offers flexible, as-needed shifts across Chicagoland clinics, with opportunities to work at multiple locations. New grads welcome; ARRT certification or in progress, and IL licensure required. Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a Radiologic Technology degree and ARRT certification or active enrollment to complete within 6 months.
• Illinois licensure to practice radiologic technologist is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform extremity X-ray imaging following physician orders and ALARA principles.
• Room patients, collect vitals, and document in the EMR (Epic) as needed.
• Support clinical tasks and relay physician/PA instructions to patients.
• Maintain imaging equipment and perform daily QC checks.
• Assist with patient positioning and imaging workflow across multiple clinic locations.

Education

We’re growing our imaging team and looking for a PRN X-Ray Technologist who wants flexible, meaningful work in a clinic that actually stands for something.

What You’ll Do

• Perform extremity X-ray imaging to support diagnosis and treatment, following physician orders and ALARA principles
• Room patients, collect vitals, and document accurately in the EMR (Epic) when needed
• Support clinical tasks when needed
• Relay physician and PA instructions to patients about their treatment plans
• Maintain imaging equipment, perform daily QC checks, and report issues promptly

Schedule Details

• As-needed shifts with flexible scheduling — no guaranteed hours
• You’ll be contacted to cover a full shift at a designated clinic; location varies based on need and your ability to commute

Who We’re Looking For

You have a degree in Radiologic Technology and are either ARRT certified or on track to complete certification within 6 months of hire. Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety (or IDPH Radiologic Technologist) licensure is required to practice in this role.
