North Central College’s Writing Center in Naperville, IL is seeking a student tutor to assist undergraduate students with writing during Writing Center hours, on campus in Oesterle or online. You will read, review, and critically question student work to provide constructive feedback.

Applicants must be NCC students (Spring 2027 eligibility), maintain a 3.0 GPA, and commit to at least 4 hours per week plus 6–8 hours of paid training. Open to working Fall and Spring semesters.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled as a North Central College student or will be enrolled for Spring 2027.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0.
• Must have earned B+ or better in a first-year writing course.
• Able to tutor at the Writing Center for both the Fall and Spring semesters of the academic year and commit to working a minimum of 4 hours a week (for 2 hour slots).
• Able and willing to complete 6-8 hours of paid training.

Responsabilités

• Provide one-on-one or group tutoring sessions in writing for undergraduate students; tutoring will occur during Writing Center hours and may take place in Oesterle or online.
• Provide constructive and appropriate feedback by reading, reviewing, and critically questioning student writing.
• Monitor and record student appointments.
• Attend required tutor trainings and monthly meetings.
