Job summary

Northampton Community College is accepting applications for a part-time Writing Tutor in the Learning Center (Bethlehem or Online). Tutors support student success by personalizing instruction to deepen understanding, develop learning strategies, and foster critical thinking.

Training through CRLA is provided and certification is expected within a year. Responsibilities include meeting with students on campus or online, attending staff meetings, and maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or above in the discipline or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• A grade of B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor.
• Previous tutoring experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Tutor students individually or in small groups to improve understanding and study strategies.
• Meet on campus and/or online, with CRLA training and certification within one year.
• Participate in staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
• Respond promptly to correspondence and maintain complete records.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
