Villanova University is seeking a Professional Tutor in the Writing Center. This part-time, nine-month role supports undergraduate students through one-to-one consultations, workshops, and ongoing development of writing skills.

The tutor reports to the Director of the Writing Center, collaborates with faculty, and contributes to outreach efforts while maintaining thorough session reports and adherence to university policies.

Qualificações

• Master’s degree required.
• 3 years of face-to-face tutoring experience.
• Knowledge of writing skills, rhetorical models, and effective tutoring methods.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Microsoft Office applications.

Responsabilidades

• Provide one-to-one consultations with Villanova students, staff, and faculty.
• Engage in a collaborative effort to help writers create their best quality work and improve writing skills.
• Complete online reports after each session.
• Attend brief team meetings (concerning workshops, discussing professional development opportunities, etc.)
• Support outreach efforts and secondary projects (running workshops, providing in-class presentations, etc.)
• Perform other duties and assist with projects as assigned.
