Job summary

Northampton Community College is seeking a part-time Writing Tutor for the Learning Center in Bethlehem or online. Responsibilities include tutoring students, maintaining records, and pursuing CRLA certification within the first year.

The role supports student success through personalized strategies and critical thinking development. Tutors will meet students on campus or remotely, participate in staff meetings, and engage in ongoing professional development to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in the discipline or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• B or above in each course the candidate intends to tutor.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine desire to help diverse students learn and succeed.

Responsibilities

• Meet with students on campus and/or online to tutor and support learning.
• Complete and maintain records and participate in staff meetings and development activities.
• Complete CRLA training and obtain certification within one year of employment.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned.
