Job summary

A university writing center is seeking undergraduate and graduate students with significant writing experience to work as consultants. Responsibilities include one-on-one coaching with campus writers and conducting presentations on writing topics. The ideal candidate should have a GPA of 3.0 or better and flexibility to work at least five hours per week. Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program at least half time.
• Completion of first year writing requirements and at least one disciplinary writing course.
• GPA of 3.0 or better.
• Availability to work at least two semesters after the semester of hire.

• Ability to coach others on writing without doing the work for them.

The Oakland University Writing Center (OUWC) seeks undergraduate and graduate students with significant writing experience. Consultants work one-on-one with campus writers at all stages of the writing process, create and offer presentations on writing-related topics, and research center services.

Prerequisites:

• Current enrollment in a degree-seeking program at least half time
• Completion of first year writing requirements and at least one disciplinary writing course
• GPA of 3.0 or better
• Availability to work at least two semesters after the semester of hire because training takes several weeks
• Willingness to work at least five (5) hours per week
• Ability not only to write well but also to coach others on their writing without doing the work for them
