Job summary

Interim HealthCare is seeking a Weekend Personal Care Aide to join our Tri-County service area, covering Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston counties. This modified full-time role offers 30 hours per week, Friday through Sunday, with competitive pay and weekly payroll.

As a PCA, you will provide in-home personal care, assist with daily living activities, medication reminders, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CPR certification.
• Six months of healthcare experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and support to seniors at home.
• Assist with daily living activities: bathing, dressing, grooming.
• Help with ambulation, transfers and range of motion.
• Give medication reminders and document client condition.
• Create a safe home environment and engage clients in activities.

A few must-haves for PCAs/Caregivers:

• Seeking a flexible individual to cover a variety of weekend shifts within the Tri-County area (Dorchester, Berkeley, and Charleston counties)
• High school diploma (or equivalent)
• Six (6) months of experience in a healthcare role, preferred.
• CPR certification
• Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
• Compassionate and helping nature, good communicator and ability to lift 50 lbs.

As a PCAs/Caregiver, here’s a big-picture view of what you’ll do:

• Provide the personal care and support seniors need to live safely at home.
• Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, light housekeeping, meal preparation, shopping, transportation and companionship.
• Help with ambulation, transferring and range of motion exercises.
• Provide medication reminders, document their condition and notify a supervisor of any concerns.
• Ensure a safe home environment with unobstructed pathways.
• Participate in activities that bring clients joy such as puzzles, games, reading and hobbies.
