Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking an RN Wound Ostomy to join an elite team on a per diem, part-time basis, weekdays, day shift. The role focuses on wound ostomy, skin care, and patient education with collaboration across hospitalists, surgeons, and ancillary staff.

Responsibilities include creating care plans, educating patients, training staff, leading skin prevalence initiatives, and supporting outpatient ostomy services.

Qualifications

• BSN required for professional nursing practice.
• Oregon RN license required on hire.
• CWON certification or commitment to obtain CWON within 12 months of hire.
• BLS certification at hire (American Heart Association).

Responsibilities

• Craft personalized wound, ostomy, and skin care plans that guide patients from hospital to home.
• Educate patients and empower them to manage their care with confidence.
• Train and support nursing staff across the hospital in best practices for wound, ostomy, and incontinence skin care.
• Lead quarterly Skin Prevalence studies and champion Skin Care Resource Nurse team.
• Provide ongoing support through outpatient ostomy clinic, including expert stoma site markings and follow-up care.
• Inpatient nursing role delivering clinical care, leadership, and compassionate patient-focused services.
