Job summary

Baton Rouge General Medical Center is seeking a compassionate Wound & Hyperbaric Care Technician to support specialized wound care services under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with patient intake, comfort measures, wound care procedures, and documentation to improve outcomes and patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have healthcare exposure, CNA or EMT certification preferred, strong communication and teamwork, and a commitment to safety and infection prevention.

Qualifications

• Previous healthcare experience preferred.
• Previous wound care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake activities and vital signs.
• Provide direct patient care and comfort measures per care plan.
• Prepare patients and treatment areas for wound and hyperbaric procedures.
• Assist with dressing changes and wound care under supervision.
• Reinforce patient education on wound care and therapy.
• Monitor patients during treatments and report changes to licensed staff.
• Assist with patient transfers using proper safety techniques.
• Maintain accurate documentation and charge capture information.
• Sterilize, stock, and maintain treatment equipment.
• Support infection prevention and department cleanliness.
• Respond effectively during emergencies and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
