Job summary

Harlingen Medical Center Wound Care is seeking a Registered Nurse for full-time, dayshift. The nurse will assess wounds, apply dressings, and provide comprehensive wound ostomy and hyperbaric care for inpatients and outpatients.

Requirements include an active RN license in Texas, BLS, and wound care knowledge; WOC/WCC certification is preferred and certification within the first year is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Must hold current and valid RN license issued by the state.
• BLS certification required upon hire and maintained.
• Prior Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Wound care knowledge/experience expected; certification within first year preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document wound conditions; evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Apply dressings and wound treatments with proper techniques to promote healing.
• Provide inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric care.
• Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy care, and continence management.
• Monitor healing progress, adjust care plans, ensure follow-up after discharge, offer emotional support.
