Job summary

Prime Healthcare's Harlingen Medical Center in Harlingen, TX is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for wound care. This full-time role involves days shifts and 8-hour shifts, focusing on wound assessment, dressing applications, and comprehensive patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings.

You will educate patients and families on wound care techniques, monitor healing progress, and collaborate with the care team to prevent infections and optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must hold a current and valid Registered Nurse license in the state.
• BLS required at hire and maintained.
• Prior Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
• Wound care knowledge/experience preferred (1 year).
• Wound Care Certification within first year of hire.
• WOC or WCC board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess and document the condition of patients' wounds and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Apply dressings and treatments to wounds with proper technique to promote healing and prevent infection.
• Provide comprehensive patient care in inpatient and outpatient wound ostomy and hyperbaric treatment.
• Educate patients and families on wound care, ostomy care, and continence management.
• Track healing progress, adjust care plans, ensure follow-up, and support post-discharge.
