This Full-time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner role involves traveling between facilities to assess and treat chronic and acute wound conditions, coordinating with physicians, and directing care with the medical director.

Qualifications

• Must be currently licensed as a registered nurse with active APRN licensure in the state.
• Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Current approval by the Board of Nursing to perform medical acts.
• Proven ability to plan, direct, and evaluate health care in long-term care settings.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct and evaluate resident and employee health care in long-term care.
• Daily travel to various facilities; regions vary by scheduling needs.
• Examine and treat chronic and acute wound-related illnesses and minor injuries.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and follow up as needed.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate with physicians.
• Collaborate with medical director on resident care and staff.
• Debride wounds using safe methods.
• Manage topical wound care products and wound management services.
• Educate patients and primary care physicians on wound care practices.
