Job summary

CareMed Health Solutions in Washington is seeking a Wound Care Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized wound care to residents in long-term care facilities. You will assess wounds, prescribe appropriate medications, and coordinate with facility staff to maintain optimal care plans.

The ideal candidate holds a current WA NP license with board certification, DEA (optional), and a strong background in adult, family, or geriatric wound care.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted NP license in WA.
• Board Certification in a relevant specialty.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background of wound care; including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfort diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy ulcers.
• Ability to stage pressure injuries per NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care products; collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.
• Experience with wound vacs and other DME devices.
• Preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Experience in long-term care and with EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe medications, including controlled substances per WA law.
• Order, review, and follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with nursing home staff about changes in condition and care plans.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.
