Job summary

VHC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant, Wound Care to ensure a clean, stocked clinical environment and support patient flow. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen prep, vital signs, and assisting with procedures and EMR entries.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred medical assisting program completion and 1 year of healthcare experience. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting program preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience required.
• One year of healthcare/primary care experience preferred.
• One year of medical terminology experience required.
• Knowledge of Bloodborne Pathogen Standard required.
• Clinical pharmacology experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or EMT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, stock, and prepare clinical areas for patient care.
• Perform phlebotomy and prepare specimens for labs.
• Take vital signs and prepare patients for procedures.
• Assist with patient flow and clinical support to physicians and staff.
• Answer phones, schedule appointments, collect co-pays and payments.
• Assist with billing and add information to the EMR.
