Job summary

VHC Health is seeking a Medical Assistant - General Cardiology to ensure a clean, stocked clinical area and to support patient care. You will perform phlebotomy, take vital signs, prepare specimens, and assist with procedures while coordinating patient flow.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least six months in healthcare; a medical assisting program is preferred. BLS and Bloodborne Pathogen knowledge are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience is required.
• One year of healthcare/medical - primary care/office experience is preferred.
• One year of medical terminology experience is required.
• Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean, stocked clinical area and prepares patients for care.
• Performs phlebotomy and specimen preparation for lab transport.
• Takes vital signs and assists with patient procedures.
• Provides general clinical support to physicians and staff.
• Answers phones, schedules appointments, and collects co-pays.
• Assists with billing and updates the electronic medical record.
