Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Graduation from a medical assisting degree/program is preferred.
• Six months of healthcare experience is required.
• One year of healthcare/primary care/office experience is preferred.
• One year of medical terminology experience is required.
• Knowledge of the Bloodborne Pathogen Standard is required.
• Experience in clinical pharmacology is required.
• Medical Assistant Certification or EMT is preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs phlebotomy and prepares specimens for labs.
• Takes vital signs and prepares patients for procedures.
• Assists with patient flow and supports physicians and staff.
• Answers phones, makes appointments, and collects co-pays.
• Assists with billing and adds information to the EMR.
