Job summary
Northwestern Medicine seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Wound Care department, working a mix of inpatient and outpatient care. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8:00am–4:30pm with no call, weekends, or nights, and locations include CDH and Marianjoy.
Responsibilities include direct clinical care, prescribing therapies, evaluating patients, and educating patients and families. The role requires certification and licensure for APRN/PA within Illinois and active hospital
Qualifications
- Master’s degree from an accredited nursing or PA program.
- Acute care certification required for APRNs.
- Current Illinois RN license and APRN license.
- Credentialed through Northwestern Medicine MSO.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates clinical expertise and expands knowledge through patient care activities including diagnosis and management of health problems.
- Responsible for health outcomes of an assigned patient population.
- Confers with collaborating physician and other health professionals.
- Develops educational systems for patients, families and staff.
- Mentors graduate students in advanced practice and patient care.
- Participates in quality improvement and/or research.
