Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join the Wound Care department, providing comprehensive patient care with a hybrid inpatient/outpatient scope. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, with some weekend responsibilities.

The APN will collaborate with a physician team, mentor students, and engage in quality improvement initiatives. Required: Master's degree in nursing or PA, acute care certification, IL RN and APRN licenses, national certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Requires an Acute Care NP certification and inpatient experience.
• Requires a valid IL RN license and APRN licensure.
• National certification for APRN or PA credentialing is required.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care to patients in wound care.
• Prescribe and order medications, therapies, and diagnostic tests as allowed.
• Perform comprehensive health assessments and develop care plans.
• Educate patients and families; document care and teaching.
• Collaborate with physicians and health professionals; participate in quality improvement.
