Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking a Process Engineer to join our Manufacturing Operations team across Lewiston, Pullman, or West Lafayette. You will identify opportunities to improve processes, work with production teams, and apply data-driven continuous improvement to boost efficiency, quality, and safety.

The role requires a B.S. in Engineering and at least two years of process development experience, with emphasis on leading teams, project management, and statistical

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or equivalent education/experience.
• Two years' process development experience in a related world-class manufacturing company.
• Ability to lead a cross-functional team.
• Ability to influence others and reach consensus.
• Strong project management experience.
• Knowledge of statistics as applied to process capability measurements.
• Effective writing, documentation, and speaking skills.
• Team-oriented with cooperative work style.
• Background checks must be clear and drug testing negative.
• Desirable: understanding of materials used in the industry.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering support in multiple areas of manufacturing.
• Specify, develop, justify, implement, and sustain assembly equipment and materials.
• Improve quality, yield, efficiency, and capacity of processes.
• Apply statistical problem solving to identify root causes.
• Evaluate new equipment and processes and drive process improvements.
• Interpret results and provide recommendations to management.
• Stay updated on equipment and industry standards, best practices, and developments.
• Model, teach, and apply SEL Values and World Class Manufacturing Principles.
