Qualifications

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
• Two years of service in the Associate Counsel title, or equivalent legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate statewide workplace violence prevention initiatives and activities across the Unified Court System.
• Interpret workplace violence statutes, regulations, and case law; serve as primary contact for complex matters.
• Collaborate with organizational leaders and cross department stakeholders to advance safety goals.
• Provide expert legal guidance to HR staff, managers, and administrators on recordkeeping and safety procedures.
• Lead statewide training, outreach, and communications; develop guidance and awareness materials; ensure LMS records are up to date.
• Establish and update policies, workflows, and response procedures as the Unit evolves.
• Develop tracking systems and tools to monitor workplace safety and violence prevention matters.
• Prepare reports and recommendations on incidents, trends, and compliance issues for leadership.
• Supervise, onboard, and develop Unit staff.
• Some statewide travel may be required.
