Job Summary

In collaboration with the director of engineering, develop community outreach and student recruitment activities targeting special populations and traditional students for workforce programs. Provide tracking services to enhance student success. This position is 100% responsible to a grant. Therefore, the continuation of the position is subject to continued external funding.

Required Qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities In collaboration/coordination with Recruitment Services, provide recruiting services of assigned workforce programs by reaching out to publicly and privately funded organizations, business and industry connections, high schools, Career and Technical Education Centers (CTE) within ISDs, home-school organizations, and faith-based education institutions. Cultivate partnerships with on-campus entities: P-12 Partnership Office, embedded high school counselors, Recruiting Services, and career coaches. Develop data collection systems to track students recruited from special populations into workforce programs. Participate in the development and marketing of workforce programs to special populations and traditional students. Research grant opportunities for special populations. Assist in data collection, writing, and the execution of the grant(s). Develop and present workshops, programming and occupational information to various audiences, including employers, community organizations, high schools, special populations and government agencies. Provide updates to the associate dean/director, and deans on activities and issues. Assist in the development and implementation of program recruitment management strategies including the production of up-to-date marketing materials, website and social media, and recruitment activities. Attend and participate in professional development activities, serve on districtwide committees, and participate in service to the college. Attend industry events to promote workforce programs and foster tuition reimbursement opportunities. Supplemental Functions Perform other duties as assigned. Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with college policies, procedures and Core Values.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of workforce programs, marketing recruitment and industry essentials pertaining to the programs assigned Knowledge of campus resources, processes, and departments such as admissions, financial aid, placement testing and registration Knowledge and understanding of career pathways Familiarity with skills related to workforce programs in assigned industry clusters Adept at using technology, including various systems and software to research, compile, extract, and synthesize data as needed skills Oral and written communication skills Presentation skills Computer skills Effective organizational skills Attention to detail Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with external stakeholders, and facilitate their hosting Collin students for a practical experience Ability to work professionally with Collin College faculty and staff.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, plus climbing and balancing. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Frequent physical effort required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of related experience.

Preferred

Preferred Knowledge of post-secondary workforce education. Licenses and Certifications Certification in relevant workforce disciplines preferred. Equivalency Language Four (4) years of directly related work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
