Qualifications

• At least 3 years in a business office or other facility with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and administer volunteer services and workforce development programs.
• Recruit volunteers, onboard them, engage participants, and track compliance.
• Coordinate student placements, internships, and career exploration initiatives.
• Liaise with educational institutions, community organizations, and healthcare leaders.
• Support workforce pipeline development and improve patient and family experience.

Location Detail: Backus Hospital (10309)

Shift Detail: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. Occasional but infrequent evening and weekends.

Job Summary

The Workforce Development and Volunteer Services Coordinator coordinates and administers volunteer services and workforce development programs, including volunteer recruitment, onboarding, engagement, compliance tracking, student placements, internships, career exploration initiatives, and community partnerships. Serving as a liaison among volunteers, students, educational institutions, community organizations, and healthcare leaders, this role supports workforce pipeline development, enhances the patient and family experience, and expands access to meaningful educational, volunteer, and career opportunities throughout the communities served by the organization.

Qualifications

Education

Associates Degree in Health Services, Human Services or similar field. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience

3 years in a business office or other facility with strong customer service capacity.

Knowledge, Skills And Ability Requirements

• Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions, and effectively communicate information.
• Basic computer skills (including opening/reading email and basic internet use).
• Basic computer knowledge to enter/retrieve data. Accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation skills necessary.
• Ability to prioritize daily work assignments.
