Job summary

The State of Connecticut Department of Labor (DOL) is seeking a Labor Department Programs and Services Coordinator to oversee the Montville American Job Center operations and supervise staff delivering RESEA, WIOA, Wagner-Peyser, and Veteran Services.

The role requires strong leadership, program coordination, and the ability to collaborate with regional partners. Travel to other AJC locations may be required; a six-month probationary period applies.

Qualifications

• Eight years of technical level experience in counseling, employment placement, veterans employment and training support services or related areas.
• One year of advanced working level capacity in a Labor Department role.
• College training may substitute for experience (15 semester hours = 0.5 year).
• A Master’s degree may substitute for one additional year of General Experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the American Job Center.
• Supervise staff delivering RESEA, WIOA, Wagner-Peyser, and JVSG/Veteran Services.
• Record activities, generate reports, and monitor data using CTHires.
• Provide guidance, mentoring, and leadership to staff.
• Support and assist Unit Director in process improvements.
• Coordinate services with regional partners and AJC staff.
