Job summary

Iowa Workforce Development is seeking an experienced American Job Center (AJC) Division Administrator to lead 14 AJC centers and 3 satellites. The role oversees personnel, compliance with WIOA, and collaboration with state agencies to improve service delivery for mutual customers.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of full-time management-level work in finance, HR, engineering, law, social work, regulation, data processing, or program research/evaluation.
• Eleven years of full-time management-level work in the same fields.
• Combination requirements with education and experience, including CPMP equivalence.
• Five years of full-time management-level work in the listed fields with a four-year education/experience combination.
• Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch with at least one year in a comparable management-level position.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all aspects of the AJC Division including personnel matters and supervision of 15 team members.
• Represent the agency at National Association of Workforce Agencies meetings and participate in strategic planning for AJCs.
• Collaborate on SOPs, policies, and process improvements affecting the AJC Division; coordinate with finance on budgets.
• Review all AJC sublease agreements and manage MOUs with other state agencies; coordinate with auditors on program and financial performance.
• Develop and implement corrective action plans for performance issues and ensure compliance with WIOA guidelines.
• Oversee the Local Workforce Development Area spanning 42 counties; manage budgets over $20 million annually; ensure staffing of committees and adherence to policies.
