Job summary

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) offers a workforce planning and Human Capital internship designed for college and graduate students. The program provides hands-on transit industry experience across departments such as operations, safety, IT, planning and general business functions.

Interns work up to 13 weeks during the summer, rotate through departments, and are supervised by an executive or designee.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent and enrolled in an accredited college/university.
• Freshman must have completed their freshman year and be entering sophomore year.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.

Responsibilities

• Compiles, reviews and analyzes data and produces reports.
• Researches data for management, operations, and administrative reports.
• Produces presentations, reports, and data visuals for the assigned department.
• Reviews reports to identify problems and suggests solutions.
• Participates in training and attends department meetings to gain exposure to transit functions.
