This is fundamentally a workflow automation role that uses AI, not an AI/ML research role.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of taking complex, manual business processes - the way non-technical teams do their work - and replacing them with reliable, automated tools. Tasks and Deliverables

• Business Process Automation: Identify manual business workflows, map target-state processes, and build automated replacements handed directly to non-developers to run.
• Jira Advanced Orchestration: Author and maintain advanced Jira automation rules utilizing smart values, conditional branching, webhooks, and custom field logic.
• GitLab API Integration: Build custom integrations against the GitLab REST API to programmatically extract and manipulate commits, pipeline events, merge requests (MRs), and repository metadata.
• Angular Frontend Development: Construct clean, intuitive web interfaces using Angular to give non-technical stakeholders control planes for triggering, monitoring, and managing automated workflows.
• Applied AI Service Integration: Incorporate pragmatic AI capabilities (such as LLM calls, text classification, or document processing) into broader workflow streams to handle unstructured business data.
• Documentation & Handoff: Produce clear, operational documentation, user guides, and workflow diagrams to ensure smooth adoption and low-maintenance execution.

Required Experience

• Non-Negotiable Core Screening Requirement: Candidates MUST show explicit, past experience designing and building business process automations that non-developer business units run (data science pipelines, developer CI/CD tooling, or pure ML model building alone will not qualify).
• Advanced Jira Automation: Hands-on mastery of Jira Automation features, including complex smart values, conditional logic, multi-project execution, and inbound/outbound webhooks.
• GitLab REST API Engineering: Direct experience building applications or scripts that interact with the GitLab REST API (specifically commit extraction, pipeline triggers, MR management - not just writing standard GitLab CI/CD YAML files).
• Angular Development: Strong proficiency in Angular (TypeScript) to build functional user interfaces and dashboards for internal business tools.
• Applied AI Capabilities: Practical experience leveraging AI services/APIs within larger automated workflows to solve operational tasks.
