Job description

We are seeking an experienced AI Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement intelligent automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and streamline business processes across a large, global organization.

This individual will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, software engineering, and process automation, leveraging generative AI, large language models (LLMs), and automation frameworks to build scalable solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical development skills with the ability to identify automation opportunities and translate business requirements into practical AI-driven applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and deploy AI-powered automation solutions to streamline workflows and reduce manual processes.
  • Build and integrate applications using generative AI, LLMs, AI agents, and natural language processing technologies.
  • Develop Python-based automation scripts, APIs, and integrations connecting enterprise applications and data sources.
  • Implement intelligent workflow automation using tools such as Microsoft Power Automate, UiPath, or similar platforms.
  • Design and implement AI solutions using retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), vector databases, and prompt engineering where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, data teams, and software engineers to identify automation opportunities and define technical requirements.
  • Integrate AI capabilities with cloud platforms, enterprise systems, and existing business applications.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize deployed automation solutions for reliability, scalability, security, and performance.
  • Establish best practices for AI governance, responsible AI usage, testing, documentation, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities to improve productivity and operational performance.
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, intelligent automation, AI engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong programming experience with Python and experience developing APIs and system integrations.
  • Hands-on experience implementing AI or generative AI solutions using LLMs, AI APIs, or agent-based frameworks.
  • Experience with workflow automation, robotic process automation (RPA), or business process automation.
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, databases, and enterprise application integrations.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, version control, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Automate, UiPath, or comparable automation platforms.
  • Experience implementing RAG pipelines, embeddings, vector databases, and enterprise knowledge retrieval.
  • Exposure to Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock, OpenAI APIs, or similar generative AI services.
  • Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and cloud-native application development.
  • Familiarity with enterprise security, data governance, access controls, and responsible AI practices.

This is a fully remote opportunity aligned with Central Time business hours. The successful candidate must be comfortable collaborating virtually with cross-functional teams and participating in occasional business travel, estimated at 5-10%.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a hands-on engineer who can move beyond AI experimentation and deliver production-ready automation solutions. The ideal candidate understands how to combine Python development, AI technologies, and workflow automation to solve real business problems and deliver measurable operational improvements.
